3 years ago today we lost my Mom. Caitlyn was a week away from being born when she died. I know my mom watches over her and her two cousins and is their guardian angel-but there are days that I wish she was here to ask what I was like at this age. I know my mom would have loved Caitlyn, and would have had so much fun partaking in some of the craziness that is Caitlyn. Several months after my mom died, Cash made a beautiful picture frame with MiMi on it and a picture of my mom to put in Caitlyn's room. Caitlyn knows who is in the picture and sometimes at night she says she misses her MiMi. It's hard not to get chocked up since Caitlyn never meet my mom.
After Caitlyn was born, while I was still in labor and delivery, I was holding Caitlyn, when the water in the sink came on for several seconds-like someone was washing their hands. (there was no one within 10 feet of the sink at the time). I feel like my mom was there, getting ready to wrap her arms around us and hold her new granddaughter.
I miss her everyday....I love you mom! You are our Angel. This is my mom, holding Madison (Caitlyn's older cousin)

Be careful What you say!
Mondays have been rough around our house for several months now. Cailtyn not wanting to get up because "i still tired" or just the lag of the weekend. Sometimes it's the drop off that's rough, especially if it is mommy dropping off. It can be a fight to get her up and moving, dressed and out of the house without a fight.
Today was a good day....we picked out our clothes last night and she laid in bed while I got her dressed. Once up she was pretty happy. I told her we needed to go fix her hair. "I don't want my hair fixed."-Caitlyn tells me. I decided it wasn't worth the fight. It didn't look that bad. I brushed and tried to convince her to at least let me put a clip in it to pull it out of her eyes-NOPE, not happening.
We get out to the car and daddy takes one look at her and says "Your hair looks like Shit."
Caitlyn turns, looks at him and says, "May hair doesn't look like Shit!"
...................................be careful what you say-they repeat everything!!!!!

Blankets
Caitlyn has two favorite blankets. She has her monkey blanket and Maw Maw blanket(a hand crochet blanket). She uses both of these ontop of her sheet and bed cover. They have a specific order and if you don't do it right, she lets you know about it. Now, MawMaw's blanket is heavy and we try to limit it to use during the winter months. We do make a big production of bringing it out when the weather cools off and putting it away when the weather warms up.
Last weekend, I pulled MawMaw's blanket for cleaning and storage for the summer. Monday night, Caitlyn asked for MawMaw's blanket and I explained to her that we were putting it away because it was too warm to use it. Here is our conversation....
C "I want MawMaw's blanket"
M-"MawMaw's blanket is being put away, it's too warm."
C-"I said I want MawMaw's blanket"
M-" I said no, we aren't using it right now."
C-" I said I want MawMaw's blanket"
M-" Cailtyn, I said no."
C" and I said YES, I want MawMaw's blanket"
Daddy proceeds to bury his head in his hands and laugh quietly at this exchange. BTW- Mommy won. MawMaw's blanket did not make it to the bed.

Bedtime
Bedtime for Caitlyn has become a battle of how many stall tactics she can pull out before actually settling down and going to bed.
What tactics does she use?????
1. Dancing with you.
2. Kicking the covers off repeatedily
3. Deciding to have you sing-either "Somewhere over the Rainbow" or "Hush baby" or both
4. Not wanting to say prayers and then when you leave the room saying "I want prayers".....then adding 500 names to the GOD bless part.
5. Calling out to Mommy and Daddy for one more hug and kiss (multiple times)- daddy is the biggest Sucker for this :)
6. Or she just becomes "chatty cathy" instead when she's been non-talkative the rest of the evening
We are in the habit of staying with her for a bit and just laying there quietly. She will reach up and stroke my chin or cheek and smile. That sweet smile melts my heart everytime.

About Cailtyn
Caitlyn is my crazy almost 3 year old. The things she does and says sometimes really cracks me up. So, since I am on my computer more than I have a book and pen in front of me, I decided to chronicle parts of her life and the crazy things that she says and does. Caitlyn has gotten into the show "Jake and the Neverland Pirates"-when things go wrong or Captain Hook takes something of theirs the characters say "OH coconuts". This has been a new expression for Caitlyn. IF she does something wrong or hurts herself....."Oh coconuts" is what I hear. Caitlyn is very much a Taurus...she is bull-headed and strong willed. She can do it herself and will fight you if you try and do it for her. Favorite expressions: "Wahoo!"-said with fists pumping in the air "That's my favorite"-especially after drinking Daddy's sweet tea "That will be so much fun" "Mommy, stop that"- usually spoken when I am telling her to do something she doesn't want to do. That's all for today. I will post more later.
